Many of these have been in my collection for twenty to thirty years. Other great items as well, check them out! A Closer Look: Start things off with one of the rarest Elvis albums in the world today. In February of 1973 RCA began pressing "Aloha from Hawaii". On this very first pressing there was a special very small run where an additional sticker was added to the front shrink that advertised "Chicken of the Sea" Sponsorship and it was only distributed by the company to key employees inside the company. This album virtually never shows up and this has been one of my pride and joys for many years. The cover is still in the original shrink wrap, the wrap does have a small tear at the bottom right, but still covers the entire cover. The "Chicken" sticker on the shrink is mint, the Quad Sticker is mint, the album itself has just a hint of wear in a few spots, a beauty. The back of the album is enclosed in the shrink as well and it still has the gold foil Saturn sticker on the cover. Both records are in mint condition. This record five years ago was valued at $2500 in this complete format, seems a bit low when you consider the rareness of this album when compared to other similar priced Elvis albums. It took me over 12 years to find this album back in the 70's and 80's, a few have surfaced over the years, but it has to be one of the top five of rare Elvis records in the world today. MUSIC ANIMATION BY KALI MARCUM Rating Guide: Mint (M): Perfect in every way, looks to have never been played, should have that look just as it did when you pulled the record from the new cover at the time of original purchase. Mint Minus (M-): A nearly perfect record and cover. This item should show no readily visible signs of wear, covers and sleeves should have no more than nearly invisible rings or other signs of slight wear and vinyl should still be completely glossy and shiney, just the very lightest hint of wear if it is tilted to very bright light. Very Good Plus (VG+): This record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled carefully by the previous owner. Record surfaces will show some light signs of paper scuffing or light scratches, that don't affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect sound are OK. This disc should still contain much of its original luster and sheen. The covers and picture sleeves should also be in very nice shape, they may have light ring wear or other signs of wear, may have a small cut out hole, indention or stamping present. Also there can be non obvious writing on the paper goods. Very Good (VG): Many of the defects found in the VG+ record and cover will be present but more pronounced in the VG item. Surface noise will be evident, although the record should play through without skipping or repeating. Groove wear will now be noticable, scuffing and light scratching will be appearent, a scratch now can be felt with a fingernail. Labels will be marred with tape or tape residue, stickers or descret writing. The same will be true for the LP cover or picture sleeve. Good (G): Good does not mean bad! A record in good condition should be placed on a turntable and it should play through, all though the surface noise will be evident. A cover or picture sleeve will have seam splitting, especially on the bottom seam or spine. Also there will be noticable ring wear caused by the presence of the record. The defects will start to overwhere this item. Fair (F) or Poor (P): This record will be cracked, badly warped, and will not play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeeve or LP cover will show lots and lots of wear, the seams will be split on all three sides barely able to hold the record.
