The White Album (Re listed) This listing is for a very rare, original copy of the Beatles double LP 'The Beatles', more commonly known as the White Album. This copy comes complete with it's original poster, four photos and black sugar paper inner sleeves. This copy also features the extremely low number of 0003428! The album was originally issued in November, 1968. The minimalist cover was designed by Richard Hamilton and every original issue of the record was printed with it's own, unique number. The vast, vast majority of copies of the White Album all have their numbers up in the 100,000 range (since numbered copies went up into the 500,000s, it means that over 80% of numbered copies were numbered over 100,000). To find a White Album cover in the tens of thousands range is very difficult in itself, but to find a copy numbered just 3428 is near impossible! This is a respectable, complete mono set with an impossibly low number of 0003428!! It's holding up fine with no damage to the seams bar a few little creases running through them. The spine is holding but has the fold running down the middle as most White Album sleeves do. The laminate on the spine doesn't feel like it's split or peeled. The cover has a hole is pretty clean but has creamed quite noticeably and the laminate seems to have lost a little of its thick shine. There are some light creases in the laminate and there's a little, light disc impression. The inside is clean but, again, looks like the laminate has lost a little of its shine. There's a small waterstain at the base of the spine. Overall, looking nice but showing its age a little. | | Inner Sleeve Condition | The inner sleeves are in G condition. Both are worn and one has a split seam right down the side. Both are a little creases and showing light wear, mostly along the fragile mouth edge. | | Inserts Condition | The photos are in EX condition. The photos are clean with a great, rich colour to them and on nice, thick card stock. The backs have a little, very light brown rubbing on them but, overall, are looking great! The poster is in EX condition. The poster is the original, thick paper without lamination and is looking great! The seams are tidy and none of them have split. The poster is very clean bar a few light brown age spots. Overall, very nice poster! | | Disc Condition | Disc 1 is in VG- condition. The disc has a nice shine to it but a fair amount of light scuffs and marks. Nothing too serious or heavy though. There's some light stains too, so looks like it would benefit from a professional clean. Disc 2 is in VG condition. The disc has a nice shine to it but a fair amount of light, faint scuffs and marks. Would probably benefit from a professional clean. | | Label Condition | The labels on disc 1 are in VG+ condition. The labels are lovely and clean with just a little, light spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole. There's a small sticker scar on the side 2 label. The labels on disc 1 are in VG+/EX- condition. The labels are clean with no writing, tears or anything. There's a fair amount of light spindlewear and some whitening around the centrehole. | |
