The Rolling Stones Collection is a numbered box set of vinyl LPs originally released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs (MFSL) in October 1984. This set is #5243. Only 10,000 sets were pressed. I bought myself this new and only played each record two times max. This "Limited Edition Library of Original Master Recordings" was transferred direct from the original 1963 to 1969 master recording tapes. It is housed in a hinged wooden box with brass clasp, includes a soft cover booklet that reproduces The Rolling Stones original album cover graphics, front and back [including the legendary 3-D 'Satanic Majesties' cover], a Geo-Disc cartridge alignment platter, a color, four page folded leaflet with band photo and information about the Collection and a numbered certificate of authenticity. The LPs are in the original MFSL protective inner sleeves, the jackets are glossy red with black lettering. All 11 albums in this box set were mastered at half speed from the original master tapes, and pressed by JVC Japan onto pure 180 gram high definition super vinyl.
CONDITION- The box has some wear on it, which I tried to capture with the picture. The white stuff around the box and clasp is from tape residue, when my wife decided to tape it when we were moving (sigh). Other than that there are few dents on the corners. The album covers are all in great condition except for one that had some glue dry leading to a small separation between the front and back of the album cover in a spot. There is some wear on the album covers due to how tight a fit they are in the box, but this is common with all of these MFSL sets. The records themselves are all in pristine condition and as I said I only played each one two times max. The book is in perfect condition and the lenticular picture inside looks great! The booklet and the warranty/limited edition cards are perfect too. The GEO disc is perfect as well.
