DESCRIPTION : This is an very rare, absolutely mint-condition copy of the test pressing of Minor Threat's "Out of Step" 12" EP from March 1983. (Dischord Records No. 10, Washington, DC) Test pressing is in plain white inner sleeve, which is housed inside a mint-condition LP jacket from the 1st pressing of "Out of Step", with solid black back. One side of the record has a plain white label, and the other side has a Nashville Record Productions Test Pressing label, with NRP number "14410" handwritten in black ink.
Again, this is a Test Pressing of the FIRST pressing of "Out of Step", which used a completely different mix than the second pressing. The most obvious difference is the end of the final, hidden track, "Cashing In." On the first pressing, the song ends when the band stops playing - whereas the on the second pressing there are violins at the end of the song. The now very pricey "Out of Step" test pressings with the big black sheep silkscreened on the front of the white jacket are from the SECOND pressing. The test pressing for sale here is of the FIRST pressing.
I am also including a small flyer advertising 4 early Dischord records (No. 2 S.O.A., Henry Rollins' first band, before he joined Black Flag), No. 3 Minor Threat 7", No. 5 Minor Threat "In My Eyes", No. 9 Scream "Still Screaming"), and the upcoming No. 10, "Out of Step."
CONDITION / PROVENANCE: Both record and cover are in absolutely mint condition. It has been kept in a plastic sleeve away from light and dust for the last 27 years. Record has never been played. This record and the little flyer are unconditionally guaranteed to be original, from 1983. All come from my (Jeff Nelson - Minor Threat/Dischord Records) punk archives, which are being downsized after continuing to be described variously as "too big" and "insane" or containing "more than my potential kids or grandkids will ever want."
