MARY WELLS~TWO LOVERS~DEEP GRV~MOTOWN~US ORIG~'63~CLEAN

*NO RESERVE AUCTION*

  • This is the rare US original mono deep groove "Wichita" label Hollywood pressing of, "Two Lovers," by Mary Wells on released in 1963.
  • Motown had limited use of a Hollywood, CA pressing plant in the 60's that produced superior vinyl to their regular Detroit plant. Also, in 1963, the Hollywood plant was the only one still using the "Wichita" labels, as the Detroit plant had already switched to the more common "Detroit" label.
  • Great high fidelity pressed on very thick vinyl.
  • Super rare in high grade condition!
  • Please look at my other King, Tamla/Motown/Gordy, Stax, Atlantic, Keen, Volt and ABC-Paramount Soul LP's!
  • VINYL

  • With full & very shiny gloss and great fidelity, this LP grades a strong EX (8.9) with just a few very light inaudible hairline scuffs.

    COVER

  • With vibrant colors and no age discoloration is EX with some seam and very minor ring wear.
  • This LP is difficult to find in any condition, so don't let this very rare original gem at a low starting bid and no reserve pass you by!!
  • I am a conservative careful grader (check my feedback) who guarantees (for 14 days after auction is over) everything I sell.
  • WHY SHOULD YOU BID ON MY ITEMS?
  • PLEASE NOTE: All vinyl/cover descriptions are clear with no language such as, "I suspect," I hope" or "Should," used.
  • All photos are of the front and back covers and the label of the actual item you are bidding on.
  • What you see is what you get!!
  • SO BID WITH CONFIDENCE!
  • Welcome to Soultown, USA in the Land of No Reissues

I buy and sell 60's R&B ORIGINAL vinyl only-- no reissues abide in my world. I believe in treating my bidders the way I want to be treated when I'm bidding. I try to grade conservatively and have someone accuse me of under grading, rather than over grading!! I am also a fast payer and I expect sellers to ship to me in like manner!!

    My Grading

    VINYL:

Mint (M, rarely used grade, if ever), 10: Verifiably unplayed and unblemished. Only manufacturing marks accepted. Full gloss and shine and labels have no spindle trails or wear.

Near Mint (NM), 9.0-9.9: Looks flawless. Maybe played a few times but no marks due to mishandling. Looks brand new and retains full gloss and shine. Labels have little to no spindle trails or wear.

Excellent (EX), 8.0-8.9: A few light scuffs (but no scratches) that do not cause any surface noise at all and Labels may have a few spindle trails. Will play NM. Will still have full gloss.

Very Good Plus (VG+), 7.0-7.9: A few light scuffs and/or scratches that are superficial and only cause minimal surface noise (nothing distracting-- no clicks or pops). Labels may have light wear and a few spindle trails at hole and some minimal writing. A played but well (if not perfectly) cared for record. Vinyl still has most of its gloss and shine.

Very Good (VG), 6.0-6.9: This means very good not half trashed!!! Record will have several light superficial scuffs and/or scratches and a few needle scratches some of which may be felt and heard, but record will play thru w/o skipping or sticking. Record may also have some minor groove wear, which will add to surface noise. Spindle holes can have several trails and moderate wear and writing on labels. Vinyl must retain some of its gloss and shine.

I normally do not sell items below VG, but when I do, I will give a thorough description in listing.

    COVER:

M: (Rarely used grade, if ever) An absolutely flawless cover often with shrink wrap!

NM: Cover may have only one or two minor flaws (slight corner ding, light ring or seam wear or slight age discoloration) that one would have to strain to see, but looks nearly flawless. No writing, tape or splitting whatsoever!!

EX: Almost NM! Slightly more seam or ring wear. Still no writing, tape or splitting!

VG+: Same as EX, but instead of one or two, three or four flaws which may include minor writing and some splitting.

VG: Seams may be completely split and taped and there may be moderate age discoloration along with all the possible flaws of VG+. Also, there may be writing as well.

Again, I am a good and conservative grader, so bid with confidence. Check out my feedback.
