Vinyl: Elvis Presley - ELVIS PRESLEY (LPM-1254) First Pressing

You have the opportunity to bid on this great example of Elvis' debut album, simply titled "ELVIS PRESLEY" (LPM-1254), released in 1956 on the RCA Victor label. This album is the third in a gradual listing of my Elvis Presley record collection, which I began putting together shortly after The King's untimely demise in 1977. My collection is quite vast and I have always strived for the best quality that I could find, upgrading inferior examples along the way. I am missing only TWO very rare LP's, "Elvis' Gold Records, Vol. 4" and "Speedway" Monaural issues! I plan to list primarily 1968 and earlier material, which is the most popular amongst collectors.

This particular album that you see here is the "Dark Pink" issue that came after the very light pink and the dark pink "ELVIS" on the front, released sometime around 1958 to 1959. "Just Because" is credited to the proper song writers, Bob Shelton, Joe Shelton & Sid Robin. The matrix numbers are (Side 1): G2 PP1282-17S and (Side 2): G2 PP1283-9S. The vinyl remains very glossy and appears to have been played very little. It was obviously adult-owned all of its life! Many would grade this record as NM- but I will say "EXCELLENT" to be safe. I have played both sides of this album in its entirety and it played extremely well, with no skips or repeats or annoying "ticks" or distracting "pops". The labels are super clean, exhibiting strong eye-appeal! One would have to strain their eyes searching for a spindle mark!! The cover grades EXCELLENT as well. It is very clean with no seam splits or seam breaks! There is some light shelf wear, very minor ring wear, a small pink stain to the top on the back and some corner wear to the lower right (at open end). It is not technically a split at this point, but could be if mishandled. Like the previous "ELVIS PRESLEY" LP's that I've listed, there is absolutely no tape, writing, grafitti or stickers whatsoever! The lettering on the spine is very legible. This album will come with its original "onion skin" Inner Sleeve (has tear along one seam) along with a plain white sleeve and shipped with the record separated from the cover to prevent seam splits from the record sliding around during transit.
