This auction is for an old Blind Willie McTell 78 RPM record, Victor # 21474, "Writing Paper Blues" & "Mamma, Tain't Long Fo' Day," as pictured.

Condition: I am not familiar with record grading systems, because I am not a record dealer or a record collector. So I will describe the condition this record the best I can, and I have put up a bunch of pictures to try to show the condition. In the close-ups I have tried to show the worst of the scratches. You will have to decide the grade based on my description and pictures.

This record has no breaks, chips, cracks or deep gouges. Is has a lot of what look to me like light scratches. It looks like it should play fine without skipping, but I have not tried to play it. So I guess its condition is somewhere between mint and completely trashed. You will have to decide where. Ask me questions if that would help you decide.

As I said, I am not a record dealer or a record collector. But many years ago I used to look through stacks of 78s in antique shops and flea markets, looking for interesting things in the folk, blues, hillbilly, fiddle, bluegrass and Irish categories. The record I am selling here is probably the most interesting one I found, but I don't remember where I got it. Other artists that I have on 78s who might be considered blues are the Carlisle Brothers, the Delmore Brothers, Tampa Red, the Allen Brothers, the Buster Bennett Trio and Spike Jones (Just kidding!). Let me know if any of these interest you.

I welcome packing instructions for safe shipment of 78s.
