On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Dr Strangely Strange called "Heavy Petting" and is an ORIGINAL 1970 UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press LARGE 'Spiral' Vertigo label!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!! IT IS ONE OF THE RAREST LPS EVER RELEASED ON THE VERTIGO LABEL - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!! JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!! BACK IN 1970 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED - IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS, AND WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DELETED!!!! AS A RESULT, IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE TODAY!!!! THIS LP IS MADE EVEN RARER STILL - AS IT IS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE - WITH A 'LARGE' SPIRAL ON THE LABELS (LATER ONES DONT!) - AND IS IN ABSOLUTELY SUPERB CONDITION!!!!
BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP REALLY SPECIAL - IS THAT THIS 1ST PRESSING HAS STUNNING 'DIE-CUTS' AND COMPLETELY UNDAMAGED 'TREES' ON THE COVER FRONT!!!! AND THIS IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ON THIS LP!!!! THIS LP IS ONE OF THE MOST FRAGILE COVERS EVER MADE. NOT ONLY DOES IT HAVE 2 FOLD OUT FLAPS, BUT IT ALSO HAS SOME 'DIE-CUT' TREES WHICH ALSO FOLD-OUT ON EITHER SIDE OF THE COVER FRONT!!!! NATURALLY (AS MOST PEOPLE HADNT EVEN HEARD OF 'PLASTIC SLEEVES' IN 1970!) - MOST COPIES BECOME RIPPED AND TORN FROM BEING SLID IN AND OUT OF RECORD RACKS OVER THE YEARS. OR THEY WERE TREATED BADLY - AND COVERS WERE QUICKLY DESTROYED. BUT NOT THIS ONE!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!! This is the ORIGINAL UK Vertigo 1st Pressing from 1970 and is in SUPERB condition!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is 6360 009 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press LARGE 'Spiral' Vertigo Label (see picture) and is a UK 1970 Stereo 1st pressing (there were NO Monos)!!!!
The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL!!!! IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!! The vinyl is in absolutely BRILLIANT condition!!!! Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 MEGA light scufflines, NO hairlines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!! THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK AND LOOKS SUPERB!!!! It is great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some VERY low level background sound on the run on grooves & gaps - NOT in the music AT ALL!!!! The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!! The record must MEGA STRICTLY grade Very Good++++ if not better - and is very VERY close to a grade above!!!! SUPERB RECORD!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press 'Date Coded' Vertigo Inner Sleeve which is in SUPERB condition - and is still FULLY 'poly lined'!!!! The ORIGINAL 1st Press 'Die-Cut' Gatefold 'Fold-Out' Cover is in absolutely BRILLIANT condition - and is almost NEVER seen like this!!!! And incredibly for once this cover has NO TEARS AT ALL!!!! And even rarer still - not only does this cover have NO tears AT ALL, but AMAZINGLY all of the 'die-cut' sections, the 'fold-out' flaps, AND the shaped 'tree' sections are in SUPERB condition - with NO splits, NO burring, and a PERFECT shape!!!! I have taken REALLY close up pictures of the 'shaped' sections - to show exactly how SUPERB these areas of the cover really are!!!! This cover is hard enough to find with NO tears - and probably only 1 in 30 or 40 copies have NO tears AT ALL. But to find one with PERFECT shapes to the fold-outs???? It is almost UNHEARD OF!!!! Probably only 1 in every 100 copies have shaped sections as SUPERB as this cover has!!!! And the rest of the cover has NO edge splits, NO sticker marks, NO spine splits, only a VERY few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking indeed!), NO ringwear, NO rubbing, only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour!), NO sticker tears, only some almost INVISIBLE 'touching in' traces to the edges, NO annotations, and NO writing!!!! There is also NO stickers and nothing hidden!!!! The opening edges are beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL!!!! Even the back of the cover is in SUPERB condition with NO grubbyness, NO sticker tears, NO yellowing, barely ANY rubbing AT ALL, NO ringwear, and NO writing!!!! And of course - as mentioned before, this cover has NO rips, NO tears, and NO damage AT ALL to ANY of the shaped sections!!!! An absolutely BRILLIANT cover and it must MEGA STRICTLY grade Very Good++++ if not better - and is very VERY close to a grade above!!!! SUPERB COVER!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS (ESPECIALLY WITH NO DAMAGE AT ALL TO THE SHAPED SECTIONS ON THE COVER!) - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
