This is an Auction for the Fall On Deaf Ears and Rope Split - In Memory 1979 - 1997 on The Western Breed Recording Company #007. I bought this from At the Drive-In. The story behind this single is that it is two song from Sarah Reiser and Laura Beard's bands. On the ATDI's Album in/casino/out the song Napoleon Solo is about the death of the two of them in a car crash in 1997. ATDI was at the point of breaking up at the time and it was the deaths of two people close to them that allowed the band to put aside their differences and continue. It comes with an insert about the two.
Cedric says before playing Napoleon Solo:
"(...) this is every reason why we play music, this is for Sarah Rieser and for Laura Beard, two very beautiful women who died at age of 17, while we were in New Orleans, and this.. this is that phone call that you get, that when you wish youve never gotten (...) we sing this songs in their name in their honour (something bout respect to women playin in bands :)) this is forever..."
Conditiion: I'm not a big fan of the grading system because too often it is based on opinion and one man's VG+ is anothers man's G. I also tend to grade things low but have found through past experience that regardless of how conservative I am, there is always someone out there that thinks it isn't conservative enough. The fact is that in the 20+ years that I have collected records and often bought new, no record is Mint and without a doubt nothing is Mint++.
About Me: I'm not a dealer and this is part of my own personal collection. I've collecting records since the mid 80s mostly Southern California punk before 1985. Also I promoted shows during the 1990s and 2000s. At this point, most of these records haven't been played in over 10 years and I could uses the money. About 2 years ago, I sold off my CD collection and just recently decided that I need to stop hoarding these. Plus I would love to see these in the hands of another collector to enjoy instead of packed away. I plan on slowly selling off the collection over the next few months.
