Here is a very rare original UK copy of Free's debut LP, Tons of Sobs, from 1969 on first pressing Island with the coveted black and orange circle logo. And what a fantastic hardly played copy this is.
The gorgeous thick slab of Island vinyl is in comfortable EX condition having enjoyed very little play. When viewed under harsh halogen lighting only a very few of the wispiest sleeve withdrawal marks are to be seen; this very carefully looked after vinyl is in fabulous condition. Both heavily textured Island labels are also EX with no writing, rips or sticker residue and very little sign of any spindle activity. First press matrices are ILPS+9089+A2 and ILPS+9089+B2.
The unlaminated gatefold sleeve is a great EX- example which has been very well cared for. This first press Ernest J. Day gatefold has no writing, rips or sticker tears, great straight edges and only shows signs of wear at the very top and bottom of the spine.
Free's Tons of Sobs is a fabulous record which is generally found played to death and with a very sorry looking sleeve. But here is an unusually well cared for example for you to treasure.
Any questions, just ask (I don't broadcast your queries) and good luck if you are bidding.
