Up for auction is this large collection of 45rpm records! In my opinion, it's very rare to have an instant collection like this with so much interesting music.
There are over 500 records here! (I count right around 520).
A friend of mine was moving and was going to throw these out. Thankfully I was there to rescue them! He said these were his parents 45's from back in the day. This is their entire lifetime collection and consist of mostly Motown and northern soul genres, I believe all by back black artists and groups. Being a black family living in Queens, they must have had access to lots of quality music. They thoroughly enjoyed the records, playing them at parties in the 1960's and 1970's and the records are USED. They are scratchy and dirty and smell of cigarettes. Some are so worn it's hard to read the writing on the label. These are "survivors".
There are lots of obscure, rare, and non-hit records in here. I believe this collection can be a goldmine in better hands. The records are as-is, as found. I have not tried playing these, I have not tried cleaning them (and they will need a lot of cleaning.)
*A note about the shipping. I packed them into one strong sturdy box and it weighs close to 40 lbs. The least expensive option to USA is Media Mail. I am willing to ship internationally via USPS Priority Mail. International shipping will likely be expensive but I will do my best to get it the lowest I can. And depending on what this collection sells for, I can work with you on the shipping cost.
eBay only allows 12 photos. The photos above only scratch the surface. So I decided to list all the records below and I alphabetized them by label so you can find a specific record easier. Also, I believe there are a few multiple copies (but not many), and it will show that there are certain record companies of which many are included (Tamla for example).
