Is this Item a Fake or Counterfeit?
You are bidding on a copy of LSC 2553, Daniel Shafran performing Shostakovich's cello sonata, and Schubert's sonata in A minor with pianist Lydia Pecherskaya. The item pictured is the one you are bidding on. The stampers are 1S/5S.

The front cover is intact... it has minor spine wear, nice original gloss, and a small, half inch seam split on the top right corner. The front is VG+.

The back has significant issues, as pictured. There is peeling of the paper throughout the back cover, the back of the cover is in G.

The record has marks and surface scuffs, with a pretty decent gloss. It has NOT seen a VPI machine, which may help with some of the issues it has. I will try to be as concise as possible about the condition of the record.

Side one has a small pop about one minute in, and a brief pop/jump about 10 minutes in. There are periods of pretty significant crackle, especially early on, in the first half of this side. It is never unlistenable, but it is there. There are parts of this side that are G+, parts that are VG-.

Side two has two "pops", about 2 minutes in and 4 minutes in. There is a crackling throughout, but again, never overpowering. The second half of this side plays pretty well, with the surface noise subsiding as the record plays. Overall I would also grade this side VG-/G+.

There are no significant skips or repeats, I played this record twice through and tried my best to describe it.
