78 rpm VICTOR 24700 RAY NOBLE AL BOWLLY MIDNIGHT THE STARS AND YOU - THE SHINING
Rare and Hard to Find original Scroll Victor 24700 by Ray Noble and His Orchestra with vocalist by Al Bowlly. Recorded in London on February 16, 1934, this is the first American release of the classic rendition of "Midnight, the Stars and You" featuring vocalist Al Bowlly. This particular recording famously was used in the soundtrack of the 1980 film The Shining starring Jack Nicholson. The flip side is "An Hour Ago This Minute". Both sides have the smaller scroll label often found on Victor issues during this period.

The disc visually grades V using the VJM grading system; wear with scuffing and some scratches. Despite the visual appearance it plays quite cleanly and without distortion as these Victors often do. I audibly play grade it at least V+ and that may be conservative on my part. Also, Midnight has a small visual dig that does not affect tracking and is barely audible; personally I have difficulty hearing it at all. The flip side grades similarly but does not have a dig. See photos for label conditions.

The disc will be sleeved in a vintage RCA Victor sleeve.

Packing and shipping in the USA via Media Mail with tracking is $4.00. Priority Mail and Overseas shipping are available and will be quoted according to destination.
