THE CHOB-45-“We’re Pretty Quick” b/w “Ain’t Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore”-Lavette Records #LA-5015— MONSTER-KillerKool HOLY GRAIL 1966 New Mexico Garage-Punk. No need to describe this-you KNOW what it is… B side is an Ultracool version of the Young Rascals cut on par with the Ugly Ducklings’ version. NOTE: THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. ORIGINAL 1966 NEW MEXICO PRESSING. I GUARANTEE IT AND YOU KNOW MY REPUTATION . I know there are fake and phony copies out there-I got this (and their second 45) in the mid-70’s in New Mexico before anyone knew what it was. Lavette Records owner (and producer of this record) and 60’s icon Lindy Blaskey told me years back that 500 copies of this were pressed-like all the other records on this label-500 were pressed of records like his own Lindy & the Lavelles singles, Viscount V, Piggy Bank and Burgundy Runn. Now I have never actually seen a fake copy of this record-but have seen photos and there is a BIG difference-in the Dead Wax on the original pressing (which this copy is) are 3 things: Lavette LA 5015, DW and SJW 9190-these matrix IDs are ONLY on the real pressing-and from what I can see from photos-the fake pressing looks cheap-this is heavy pure vinyl pressed and the label has 2 steps unlike the fake ones with one step –that is to say-from the center of the label there is a slope to the center-on the fake copies it’s a straight slope-on the real ones like this there is the slope-then a small step 2/10 of an inch ring in the press around the label (I lightened the photo so you can see it-check it out-)-and the REAL ones have a dull finish with REALLY shiny silver letters that stand out-fake ones have a glossy label and the letters are not as clear and blend in-blurry…anyway—wanted to point this out— this is one of the original 500 pressed-Mega-RARE 1966 pressings…and like I said this is the REAL HOLY GRAIL DEAL!
