RAVEL / FRANCOIS / CLUYTENS / PARIS CONSERVATOIRE ORCHESTRA - " CONCERTO IN G MAJOR / CONCERTO FOR THE LEFT HAND ", Columbia Records/EMI Records Ltd. (SAX 2394) Stereo, 1961.

Very rare, original first pressing, English stereo LP.

The light blue and silver label design and the heavyweight front laminated, flip-back sleeve distinguish this first issue.

This particular copy of this rare LP is even rarer as it bears a "FACTORY SAMPLE - NOT FOR SALE" sticker on the label - see photo.

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and put in a fresh poly-lined inner sleeve (the original has been retained for the auction to keep it complete though).

CONDITION:

VINYL = EX- CONDITION (No proper/deep scratches, no excessive wear or constant surface noise, no groove damage or distortion, etc. Nice clean labels with only the lightest of spindle trails just visible. This record has clearly only ever had light use and been well cared for throughout it's lifetime. Under a bright grading lamp there are a couple of light handling/surface scuffs and a few fine hairline marks/visual imperfections - but these do not correlate with any sonic imperfections during playback. However... although this record still plays strongly and sounds vibrant, it does suffer from occasional light background ticks and crackles throughout. How much this will affect the enjoyment of this record really depends on your expectations. If you're looking for a perfect archive copy or CD levels of cleanliness/sterility, then this is not the one for you. If however you're a bit more accepting of the foibles of records and want a good playing copy of a very rare record, then this could be a great chance to pick up this wonderful record for a much more reasonable price than perfect, mint copies sell for)

This LP was tested for sale on my Linn Sondek LP-12 record player - this is generally a very critical test and fit for purpose, but please take into account that I cannot guarantee exactly how this record will sound on every bidder's own hifi.

SLEEVE = V.G.- (No rips, tears, big creases, large seam splits or defacing. But it has been marked down for some bubbles under the front lamination, wear to the edges and corners, white areas have yellowed/discoloured, it's a bit grubby in places and there are wrinkles in the white paper back that sits over the card - see photos for more info)

NOTE: before bidding, please take the time to carefully read my condition descriptions and then place your max bids accordingly. If you do have any additional queries, please try to ask me any questions well before the end of the auction and I will endeavour to answer/help out.

This LP will be well packed and posted via an Insured, Signed-For service and this is reflected in the quoted postage rates.
