Some words on this issue: VANITY RECORDS - RNA ORGANISM: “R.N.A. Organism Meets P.O.P.O” (Vanity Records – Vanity-0006) Extremely rare and sought after Vanity Records label title. Released in 1980. Originating out of Osaka, Vanity Records can be considered as one of the obscure cornerstones of Japanese late seventies underground scene that remains shrouded in mystery and hidden in oblivion. Vanity was founded by the music critic and editor of the periodical “Rock Magazine” Agi Yuzuru . In a certain way Agi was way ahead of his contemporaries since he was able to assess new and upcoming musical talent and currents at a time when foreign styled West Coast rock and blues still was predominant on the musical landscape, labeling this new style of sounds “techno-pop”, a term he used to describe Eno -produced bands such as the Talking Heads and DEVO. When Agi received at first RNA organism’s tape by airmail, he mistakenly assumed that the outfit was from overseas and highly acclaimed the band in the magazine “Rock Magazine”. However, this diversion was a clever set-up from one of the participants Sato Kaoru, who originated from Kyoto. The sounds put on display on this album resemble a kind of dub music, infused with funky bass interceptions, noisy guitar, trumpet and rhythm box sounds. Afterwards the group altered its name into EP-4 and became quite illustrious for its guerrilla styled live performances and for simultaneously releasing its debut album from both a major label and an indie label. In the mid eighties vanished Sato from the music scene.

Our grading scale: Mint/ Near Mint/ Excellent/ VG++/. We don’t sell anything below VG++. VG++ grade is basically that the record has some scuffs and has wear. Excellent: record has hardly no visible defects and is preserved with care and attention, the condition most collectors take pride in to file away. Near Mint: a dash below mint, just perfect. Mint: like new.
