This is an auction for the debut record by the Beatles called “ Please please me” released in MONO on Parlophone Records in the Uk in 1963 catalogue PMC1202.
This copy is a first pressing on the famous Black and Gold label with the Dick James music credits for some of the songs . The vinyl has the matrix numbers of XEX-421-1N and XEX-422-1N.
Side 1 has the mother stamper 1T and Side 2 1GR
The vinyl is visually in Very Good +condition with some light superficial marks visible under a strong light. It is definitely a nice copy of this vinyl and has been well looked after.
I have listened to the entire record at high volume and it plays through nicely . It sits nice and flat on the turntable and plays through without any skips or jumps. There is some light static background noise which is more prevalent on side 2 and the odd tick on side 2 but it was a pleasure to listen to . I would easily grade the audio as VG+ for side 1 and VG for side 2.
I will professionally clean the record prior to sending it.
The labels, with the KT tax code on side 2, are very nice and free from writing etc. I would grade the labels as excellent
The EJ Day flipback sleeve has some signs of wear and laminate creasing but it is still a very nice example. The spine is in tact and fully legible.Definitely better than most copies that you see. I would grade the sleeve as a solid VG.
The record comes with its original emitex sleeve which is also nice. I will send it in a new inner.
I have included lots of pictures but if you require any more please get in touch.
Overall a very nice copy of this fabulous and rare record
Thanks for looking

I use the Record Collector guide to grade my records-see below
Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced
