This is the first of only eight 10" LPs issued by Edison in 1926. There were also six 12" LPs.

Interestingly, although these records, with around 450 grooves to the inch (as opposed to today's standard LP at around 200 grooves to the inch,) required a special stylus and gearing to play, it appears that there are more surviving machines capable of playing these records than the records themselves!

This particular example is in near mint condition, the fingerprints on image two being mine and now wiped off! There is a tax stamp on one side, showing that it was originally purchased in the UK and that the two penny tax was paid.

There are no lamination imperfections, bumps or cracks that I can see.

The jacket has a tear in the bottom, probably because the record sat in a Diamond Disc record storage slot for seventy or eighty years!

I acquired this record in the mid-1970's and played it once only, verifying its wonderful condition.

This record will play on a modern stereo player at 80rpm as long as the cartridge is wired for vertical sound.

The long play Diamond Disc records do not often show up for sale, especially in this spectacular condition!
