This is a vintage professional tone arm along with a classic GE Variable Reluctance cartridge.  Cartridge has Standard (78) and MG (Microgroove) styluses (new replacements are readily available on E-Bay and through other sources.  This arm and cartridge were designed for use in professional broadcast environments where recorded content was distributed on 16 inch "electrical transcriptions" as well as LP's, 45's and 78's.  This range of playback media required exceptional tracking ability as well as the ruggedness necessary to operate constantly, 24 hours per day.  This is one of several well known arms that met those requirements.
